Βιογραφικό σημείωμα

Ο Γεώργιος Παπαδημητρίου γεννήθηκε το 1980 στο Χολαργό Αττικής. Ζει και εργάζεται στην Αθήνα ως καθηγητής  μέσης  εκπαίδευσης. Είναι  μέλος του Εικαστικού Επιμελητηρίου Ελλάδος και  της Ένωσης Καθηγητών Καλλιτεχνικών Μαθημάτων Μέσης Εκπαίδευσης. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε περισσότερες απο 25 εκθέσεις ζωγραφικής και φωτογραφίας.

ΣΠΟΥΔΕΣ

1999-2005 Ανωτάτη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών Αθήνας. Ζωγραφική με καθηγητή τον κ. Τ.Πατρασκίδη.

2002-2004 Παρακολούθηση μαθημάτων φωτογραφίας με καθηγητή τον κ.Μπαμπούση.

''Η ζωγραφική για μένα αποτελεί τρόπο ζωής , τρόπο να σκέφτεσαι, τρόπο να ιεραρχείς τα πράγματα γύρω σου. Στα έργα μου η κατάθεση ψυχής και συναισθημάτων είναι πάντα πολύ ειλικρινής.  Ερεθίσματα και αφορμές για τα έργα παίρνω από τον παλμό της κοινωνίας, από τα άτομα που συναναστρέφομαι, ακόμα και από κάποιο γεγονός της καθημερινότητας που για κάποιους μπορεί να θεωρείται ασήμαντο. Τα θέματα που με απασχολούν είναι κυρίως ανθρωποκεντρικά με έντονο ενδιαφέρον για την παράσταση της μορφής και την εμβάθυνση στο συναίσθημα.''

Curriculum vitae

George Papadimitriou was born in Athens in 1980. He lives and works as an Art teacher in Primary State Education in Athens. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and the Hellenic Art Teachers Union. He has participated in more than 25 painting and photography exhibitions.

Studies

1999-2005 Athens School of Fine Arts (A.S.F.A.). Painting under Professor T. Patraskidis.

2002-2004 Photography under Professor Mr. Babousis.

“To me, painting is a means of living, thinking and grading things around you. My works attest a sincere, deep expression of my soul and feelings. What motivates and triggers my painting can be the pulse of the society, people I socialize with or even an everyday event that might be regarded as trivial. I mainly deal with human-centered themes, being highly interested in depicting the form and penetrating into the feelings.”

Σε μια εποχή, όπου η εννοιολογική υπόσταση της λέξης δικαίωμα αμφισβητείται και οι εξουσίες πάνω στις ζωές μας διευρύνονται, είναι καιρός να ανακτήσουμε τα δικαιώματά μας μέσα από τις δικές μας ΕΝΣΤΑΣΕΙΣ. 

Αυτό που με ενδιαφέρει είναι να εκφράζω την τέχνη με περιεχόμενο κοινωνικό. Με το συμβολισμό από τη μία και τον εξπρεσιονισμό από την άλλη, γεννιέται ένας ρεαλισμός που ποτέ δεν υπερβάλλει, ενώ συμμερίζεται την ανθρώπινη κατάσταση, φορτίζει την έκφραση έξω από εξωραϊσμούς και δεν προσηλώνεται απόλυτα στο μέτρο.

Με ενδιαφέρει ιδιαίτερα η ένταση στην έκφραση, μέσα από φόρμες απλές και διαυγείς, έτσι ώστε η ζωγραφική μου, χωρίς να είναι επαναστατική, να φέρνει στην επιφάνεια, με τρόπο απροσποίητο, πτυχές της "ασχήμιας" που υπάρχουν, να τις καυτηριάζει και να τις καταγγέλει, ενώ παράλληλα να αποτελεί εκφραστικό διάβημα συνειδητοποίησης ενός προβλήματος.  

Το ανθρώπινο σώμα μού προσφέρεται σαν τοπίο. Αγαπώ το θραύσμα που έχει τη συμπυκνωμένη δύναμη του όλου, τη λιτότητα των μορφών, την αλήθεια της ύπαρξης, το μέσα πάθος που αρμόζει στις ανθρώπινες φιγούρες. 

Η ζωγραφική, κατά κύριο λόγο, είναι ένας τρόπος να συμβιβάσεις την ισχυρή κοινωνική συνείδηση με την πιο έντονη εσωτερική πάλη, την ατέλεια με την ομορφιά, το άγγιγμα της ζωής με την έμμονη ιδέα του θανάτου. Ο ορισμός της Τέχνης, όπως την έχω στο μυαλό μου, είναι το σημείο όπου αυτά συναντώνται.

In an era where the meaning of the word right is being questioned and the powers exerted upon our lives are on the increase, it is time we regained our rights through our OBJECTIONS.

What matters to me is to express art with social content. It is through both symbolism and expressionism that realism emerges, which never exaggerates, while at the same time it sympathizes with the human state, intensifies the expression without embellishing it and does not entirely conform to the norm.

My major concern is the intensity of expression through simple and clear forms, so that my painting, without being revolutionary, can bring to light, cauterize and denounce aspects of the existent “ugliness” in an unpretentious fashion and at the same time be an expressive means towards the realization of a problem.

To me, the human body functions as a landscape. I love the fragment that carries the concentrated power of the whole, the simplicity of the figures, the truth of the existence, the innermost passion that befits the human figures.

Painting is principally a way to reconcile the sound social consciousness with the most profound inner struggle, the imperfection with the beauty, the touch of life with the obsessional idea of death. Personally, the definition of Art is the point to which all these converge.
